About Berkshire Mesh

Berkshire Mesh is a community-driven initiative to build a resilient, decentralized communication network across Berkshire County. We believe in the power of local infrastructure that doesn't rely on centralized ISPs or cellular towers.

Our mission is to connect neighbors, emergency responders, and enthusiasts through open-source MeshCore technology. Whether you're a tech hobbyist or just want to stay connected during a storm, the Berkshire Mesh will keep you in touch.

Berkshire Mesh is led by Stuck, a resident of the Berkshires, who has worked in the tech field for over fifteen years. Berkshire Mesh welcomes individuals from ALL walks of life, and focuses on educating members of organizations for marginalized folks. Seminars are occasionally held to provide hands-on demonstrations of node building and deployment, to encourage mesh development.

We aim to someday connect to the Greater Boston Mesh, which will only be possible with your help. First we need to make the leap over the mountains between Berkshire county and the Franklin/Hampshire/Hampden county area. From there, we should be able to connect Albany to Boston!
